Roy Howard is staying with the SPG until February 2015. Toufik Boukaba and Abdelmalek Mennad are staying until August 2014.

SPG member Fiky Suratman successfully defended his doctoral thesis. The topic of his thesis is “Spectrum Sensing in Cognitive Radio: Bootstrap and Sequential Detection Approaches”.

After many interesting talks the 56th Meeting of the ITG expert group “algorithms for signal processing” have come to an end. The next meeting will take place at Intel Mobilcommunication in München in Spring 2014.

On July 15th, 2013, Gebremichael Teame successfully defended his doctoral thesis.

The Signal Processing Group is proud to announce that Dr.-Ing. Christian Debes has been elevated to the IEEE Senior Member grade.

hoch3FORSCHEN published an interview about signals for the smart city was published in issue June 2013. The interview is published in cooperation with the LOEWE Priority Program Cocoon and the Department of Computer Science Seemoo.

The workshop was organized by the “Verein zur Förderung von Wissenschaft und Ausbildung” in memory of Professor Alex B. Gershman, a former PI of the Graduate School of Computational Engineering.

Former SPG member Philipp Heidenreich has been awarded as excellent reviewer by the IEEE Journal of Oceanic Engineering.

Prof. Bouzerdoum is going to visit the SPG from June, 14th-25th.

Former SPG member Zhihua Lu has been awarded with the 2012 Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-financed Students Abroad for his PhD studies at SPG.

The SPG welcomes our visiting researcher Abdelmalek Mennad from Ecole Nationale Polytechnique, Algiers. He's going to stay with the SPG until middle of August.

Prof. Zoubir is a keynote speaker at the First International Conference on Communications, Signal Processing and their Applications (ICCSPA'13) in Sharja, UAE. His talk is entitled 'Robust Estimation in Signal Processing'.
