Wenjun Zeng received the M.S. degree in control science and engineering from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 2008, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering and information technology from Technische Universität Darmstadt, Germany, in 2018. He finished his Ph.D. thesis “Robust low-rank approximation of matrices in lp-space” under the supervision of Prof. Abdelhak M. Zoubir.

From 2006 to 2009, he was a Research Assistant with Tsinghua University. From 2009 to 2011, he was a faculty member with Xiamen University, China. From 2012 to 2018, he has been a Senior Research Associate with City University of Hong Kong, Kowloon, Hong Kong. He will be a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA, from Dec 2018.

Research

His research interests lie in the areas of mathematical and statistical signal processing, machine learning, robust statistics, and numerical optimization with applications to data science. He has been a member of the Technical Program Committee of the 39th--44th IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP). he holds five U.S. patents.
