Freweyni received her B.Sc. degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Mekelle Institute of Technology in July 2010 and my M.Sc. degree in Communication Engineering from Mekelle University (Ethiopia) in July 2013. Her master's thesis was concerned with co-channel interference suppression using smart antenna techniques in mobile communication.

In October 2014, Freweyni has joined the signal processing group to work on her Doctoral degree.
