Award for Exceptional Academic Achievements granted to Michael Leigsnering

On May 11, „Freunde der TU Darmstadt“ nominated the 2016 recipients of the Award for Exceptional Academic Achievements

We cordially congratulate our former staff member Dr.-Ing. Michael Leigsnering to receiving the Award for Exceptional Academic Achievements 2016 granted by the „Vereinigung von Freunden der Technischen Universität zu Darmstadt e.V.“. The prize awards his PhD thesis titled „Sparsity-Based Multipath Exploitation for Through-the-Wall Radar Imaging“ from May 2015.

On May 11 at the awarding ceremony, the 13 awardee were given the prize for the respectively best dissertation of their department. The award is valued at €2,500 and linked with a support of the supervising institute or faculty. Michael has been working at the Signal Processing Group from December 2010 until May 2015. During his time with SPG he published 4 journal articles, 12 conference and workshop papers and co-authored a book chapter in „Compressive Sensing for Urban Radar“. Since June 2015 Michael is with AGT Group (R&D) GmbH, Darmstadt.
