Prof. Dr.-Ing. Henning Puder elevated to ITG Fellow

2021/10/26

Since 2017, the Information Technology Society in the VDE (ITG) awards the ITG Fellowship to members of the signal processing community to honor outstanding accomplishments in Telecommunications Engineering and Information Technology and extraordinary commitment to voluntary service within the community.

The ITG recently announced that Prof. Dr.-Ing. Henning Puder from WSAudiology/Sivantos and the Signal Processing Group at TU Darmstadt is one of two ITG Fellows appointed in 2021. In his laudatory speech, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Reinhard Lerch from FAU Erlangen honored Prof. Puder for his high-quality contributions to signal processing algorithms for speech and audio data. Prof. Puder’s research is mainly concerned with the development of techniques to improve noise cancelling for speech and audio signals. Many of his ideas have been implemented in state-of-the-art hearing aids, thereby improving the quality of life of the hearing-impaired.

At TU Darmstadt, Prof. Puder teaches the Master-level courses Adaptive Filters (every Winter Term) and Speech and Audio Signal Processing (every Summer Term). In addition, he supervises student projects at WSAudiology/Sivantos. If you are interested in working with audio and sensor data for hearing aids and are looking for a Master’s thesis project or internship within this area, please contact Prof. Puder .
