Jack received his B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from TU Darmstadt in 2013 after developing a robustification for a stationarity detector in his Bachelors Thesis. In 2014 and 2015 he invented an adaptive loudspeaker equalizer (USPTO app. 20170195790 ) during his time as trainee at Apple Inc. in Cupertino, CA. He returned to TU Darmstadt to receive his M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering in 2016 after developing an estimator for localizing sound sources and receivers in an uncalibrated Wireless Acoustic Sensor Network without prior location information.
In 2017 Jack joined the Signal Processing group to commence work on his PhD.
Research
Jack’s research interests lie in the field of array signal processing in uncalibrated distributed acoustic sensor networks and sensor fusion. He is also interested in acoustic environment identification using ambient noise.
Currently, he is working on wireless acoustic sensor network calibration in non-line-of-sight environments.
